Two piece custom model--solved
« on: March 10, 2016, 10:53:24 PM »
I am trying to build a custom model that has the upper piece (about 30 pixels high x 20 pixels across) at an angle and another vertical one intersecting with the one that is at an angle (see attached snip).   I laid out the pixels in the custom model from top to bottom--for example, the first strip on the left starts at node 1 at the top left and ends at node 140 at the bottom left.   Then I started at 141 at the next strip and went down to the bottom of the 2nd vertical and so on...    What I didn't think about is that xlights models this as one continuous matrix.   I was intending to get effects that "bent" (e.g. bars) when moving up or down from the angled section to the vertical section.   Should I set these up as two separate models then group them together to get the effects I am looking for??   THANKS!!

I had an "ah ha" moment when I was going to sleep last night.   I think I just need to build this model in xlights as a vertical matrix and do my best to picture it "bending"--when it is physically built it will do what I am picturing in my mind ("bending" at the angle section....)
