Unable to find: ID_SLIDER_EffectBlur
« on: March 06, 2016, 04:54:04 PM »
I am trying to import a SUP sequence for a Pixel Tree and I am getting some strange results.  My tree is 16 Strands by 40 Pixels.  The effects are all pretty much .png graphic files and some of them appear on the tree and others do not.

Also, when I click on some of the Picture Effect Sliders I get this error:  Unable to find: ID_SLIDER_EffectBlur

Any help is greatly appreciated.  It is a sequence I purchased from Holiday Sequences for Light of Christmas and most of the graphics of people and presents are not showing but the effect graphics are there.

Thanks!

You may want to include your software version. I assume it's a version after blur was added.

Sorry about that.  I am running the latest 2016.10.  If I click OK to that it does give me a couple of other errors with ID_SLIDER.:
ZoomCycles
ZoomInOut
ZoomRotation

Yep I'm sure that's a problem.  When all those layer blending panel changes were made nobody updated the SuperStar import code that had hard coded strings defined in the effect creation process.

Is there a way around it?  Can I import into an older version and then move it over to the new version or do I have to wait until the next version when it is fixed?

Thanks

I would guess you could do either.  Try it.

You can search/replace using an text editor in the XML to replace T_SLIDER_EffectBlur  with B_SLIDER_EffectBlur

That said, we need to go through the SS and other importers and remove all of these entirely.   The C_/T_/B_ panels now all do NOT output any keys that are defaults.   Thus, if the import needs the defaults, it should just not output them.   I'd like to do the same with the E_ keys, but that's a bit more work.   However, it will make the XML files quite a bit smaller and also make the rendering (very slightly) faster.

I ended up going back to 4.3.00 and importing it there and it worked fine.  I figure I can just use that until this gets cleaned up and then I will upgrade.

Thanks!

I imported a file today and saw the same issue. I did a search and replace and it worked for me.

If you wait a couple days for the next version, an import will likely result in XML files that are 20-30% smaller.  :-)

Looks like 2016.11 may have solved my problem.  I did not retry the SuperStar import as I installed 4.03.02 and was able to import the sequence without any problems.  I then opened the sequence in 2016.11 and everything seems happy.

I'll post if anything else comes up when I get the chance to dig deeper.
