I can't see my prop in House Preview

I created a custom RGB Pumpkin model using Node Ranges. In the Model Preview all is well. I just can't get it to show on the House Preview. I went back to 2016.20 and the same. Any ideas?

In the layout tab, when you select my display does it show there? If not, that's your problem.

James, it does show there. My Halloween directory has less props and less channels, all configured properly. I am restarting to see what happens. It shows fine in the Model Preview and I can play with the face movements. I just refuses to show on the House Model. I went all the way back to 2016.19 and no luck.

If you have any model groups selected, it will show only those models in the model groups. Unselect all your model groups and then all the other models that are "Part of your display" will show up.

That one sneaks up on me every now and then as well.

I thought what was displayed under "my display" is what was displayed on the house preview, but I just looked and you are right, I checked one model, everything still showed in my display but only the one model appeared in the house preview. I'm wondering if the view "my display" shouldn't reflect what will appear in the house preview?

ARGGHHHHH!!!!!! LOL  I failed to create a model group for my Pumpkin. Once I did that it worked. Just when you think you know what the hell you are doing something as simple as this bites you. Lesson learned.... well for today anyway. Thanks!

It is really best practice to setup your display so everything is unchecked in the model groups. I recently changed that in my setup because it was starting to get confusing. Just my opinion though.

The ONLY reason to ever check a model group box is when you want to view just that set of models.  I don't know why people started thinking they needed to check them all.  And ron it sounds like you are creating model groups for every  model.  That's a waste of time also.  Only create a model group when you really need a group and just leave all model groups unchecked.  I use the "Show Selected Groups" view option in layout to see what's actually going to show up.

I know one person (not me) who has a Halloween model group and a Christmas model group.
80% of the models are in both groups. Makes it easy to just check one box and have those models in the layout.

That's probably not the intended use for those buttons but it works just fine in that case.

Well I have an enhancement I've been wanting to do that should help.  I'd like to draw any model in Layout that is not going to exist in the House Preview in a different color.

Well I'm having trouble figuring out if the program is showing things properly now.  If I filter to only show one model group and then uncheck In My Display for one of the members of the group that model still shows up in the House Preview.  It only seems to disappear if the group is not checked in Layout.  That's now how I expected it to work.  I thought if In My Display is not checked it should never show up in House Preview.

I had to restart the program to see changes on House Preview after changing props in the layout.
