Was there an answer to the F11 question on the Mac version? I may have missed it somewhere of course

I cant comment on the key shortcut ... but there is a menu option under the file menu that also triggers the backup.

You can always change the system preference to disable those Mac specific key functions and only use the function key numbers.  I bought a new keyboard recently and Apple changed the function of a key I used all of the time to bring up the widgets.  I was able to remap that function to a different key, but of course I can't remember how I did it now.  Might be able to remap the F11 to a different key?
