Setup Tab with multiple controllers
« on: July 08, 2016, 05:22:03 AM »
I'll be running the show with FPP, but for now I'm testing and just using the computer.
I want to allocate the full channels for each controller for growth and just cause.

Can I set up xLights without having to setup all universes?
Controller 1: universe 1 channels 1-5000
Controller 2: universe 65 channels 32461-35000.

Seems unless I setup everything then the next universe starts at the next channel and not some channel on down.

Can't you just insert a Null output to use up a block of channel numbers?

If I'm understanding your question correctly, I think maybe you want to click the "one output" box in the E1.31 Setup.  This will result in only one line (for each setup).

There are a few issues with the "one output" feature so that's why I don't point folks to it yet.

Didn't think of that. I knew there had to be a way other than building a massive channel count.
Having the massive channel count for 3 controllers cause the test tab to take a while to load.
Thanks Gil! I'll try it tonight.

No matter how you do it if you have a huge block of channels it will slow things down.
