Running animation sequence
« on: September 16, 2016, 02:01:13 PM »
Hello all.  I have been running Lor software for 5 years and have made the jump successfully  ,  well hopefully successfully this year to X-lights. Have made convert to x lights with only the minimal of Head banging against the wall (So Far) but this one thing seems to elude me.  How do you Play and animation sequence while the show is running.  Or is there a way to incorporate an animation sequence into an musical sequence ?
I have tried to even use copy and paste but  that does not work due to the fact you can only have one sequence open at a time.  Seems like a small thing but important to how I have built my show.
Thanks for any and all help.

We all use the FPP to play our shows so you can export a sequence as a .eseq file to play in the background.  You can easily copy between two sequences.  Either open two copies of xLights or do a copy (control-c) in one sequence and then open another sequence and do a paste (control-v).

Just adding to Gils response, you will probably find more info on fpp at the Falcon forum.  There is nothing better to play your show than fpp.

Thank You Gentlemen.  Never thought of opening 2 copies of x-lights.
I did try copy paste in same instance and that did not hold thru closing one sequence and opening another.
although it works flawlessly in one sequence.

Will also try FPP.
Great another acronym to remember  ;D
Thanks again

Just tried it...works fine.  You probably didn't use the keyboard shortcuts like I said because the menu's will not be in the proper state if you are working between sessions.
