Convert LOR Sequences with DMX Intensity
« on: October 27, 2016, 09:48:33 PM »
I am in the process of converting my LMS sequences to FSEQ files for this year's show.  Every sequence has 7 DMX channels that serve as transport control for a media server.  Since the media server expects exact values from 0-255 on those channels, I have always used the DMX Intensity effect to program them.  When I convert to FSEQ, these channels are all set to 0 for the duration of the sequence.

In searching, I found several old threads on this issue but none had a workaround.  Is there a way to convert this data?

What a coincidence....today is the one year anniversary of when I logged a Github issue for this:
https://github.com/smeighan/xLights/issues/401

I remember I started working on fixing it and then ran into problems and never finished.  I don't think there is any way to work around it.  When the LOR import code was written I think the developer that coded it only had a couple files to use as reference and they didn't contain this kind of data type.

That is quite the coincidence.  Thank you for confirming that there currently isn't a workaround.

I wonder if I could change the LOR sequence to just have the cells on, import it into xlights rather than converting, and then use the DMX effect to recreate the channel values.

If work is ever done on the converter and you need examples containing this effect, I would be happy to share plenty of data...
