Select by time vs by cell
« on: December 03, 2016, 08:01:33 PM »
I have one sequence that I am able to drag my mouse and get a yellow dotted line however every other sequence I have created I can not select effects the same way. I am clearly missing something fundamental about the copy(paste) by time vs copy by cell functionality. My assumption is this is something related to a sup file i imported vs starting with a new sequence in xlights...but I'm not sure.

Can someone point me to a tutorial/section in the manual that explains this a bit better....hopefully my description of the problem is clear...if not I'll figure a way to capture the screen and what Im doing and post it up....i'm on a mac running v53 if it helps/matters.

Thanks!
Ryan

There are 2 selection modes.  If a timing track is active with the circle checked its in "cell selection" mode.  It selects based on highlighting cells formed by the timing marks.  If you uncheck all timing tracks its in "drag selection" mode where you get the yellow dashed box to select effects.

Thanks for this info!  I literally had this question earlier today - sometimes I switch between Mac and PC so I just assumed it was related to that and made a mental note to look it up later. Appreciate the clarification.
