Effects compressed when importing .sup sequence
« on: November 04, 2016, 01:04:15 PM »
Hi all,

I purchased this sequence from HolidayCoro.com: http://www.holidaycoro.com/product-p/seq-hs-mt1650-ldb3.htm

When I import the .sup version of the sequence into Xlights, the effects end up being a full minute shorter than the music track.

I'm able to use Audacity to compress the music track to fit the effects track but the singers are sounding a bit like chipmunks.

I'm wondering if there's a way to modify the effects track so it better fits the music track?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Kevin

Are you sure you have the right audio file? Start there.

Thanks for the tip Phrog30,

I wondered about that so I went back to the vendor site and followed the link to the audio file download to verify. It looks like I purchased the right audio track.

Then I watched the demo of the sequence on the vendor site; the audio and the effects ran 5:09. After import, on Xlights, the Audio is 5:09 but the effects stop at 4:09.

Without supplying the files, which you really can't because they are purchased, you need to ask the vendor.

If you look at the sup file with a text editor, the first line will look similar to:

Code: [Select]
<SuperStarMetaFile saveFileVersion="4" audioCentisecondLength="13452" sequenceCentisecondLength="13452" musicFilename="Audio\YELLOW SNOW.mp3">

Check the two lengths to see what they are assuming.  In the above case, that's 134.5 seconds.

THE AUDIO FILE LINK IS WRONG.  THE ARTIST IS NOT GO FISH, IT IS PENTATONIX.

Use this link:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KAYYRN2?ie=UTF8&keywords=little%20drummer%20boy%20pentatonix&qid=1438794034&ref_=sr_1_1&s=dmusic&sr=1-1

These sequences originated at www.holidaysequences.com       Holidaycoro is reselling them and he listed the wrong link.

Thank you all for your help! I love this forum!

Markrvp, you were right. The vendor had linked to the wrong .mp3 file so the one I downloaded was wrong.

I just downloaded the correct file and the sequence plays flawlessly.

You don't know how much I appreciate your help.
