Conversion error code
« on: November 02, 2016, 07:36:06 PM »
Has anyone received this screen after converting a file from xlights into vixen?  Once converted, it does not allow me to open the file.  Is there anyway to determine what needs to be corrected in xlights in order to proceed and be able to open the newly converted file in vixen?

See screen shot of error when trying to open converted xlights file in vixen.  When click continue nothing happens. Error code goes away and screen stays blank.

I really don't know much about the Vixen format or conversion process.  I did just try to convert to a .vix (Vixen 2.1) format and I saw partway down in the file that there were a bunch of null characters which I assume are 0x00's for some of the channel names.  Checking against the Layout it appears that if you have channels created in setup that you aren't using in Layout then you get a whacky channel name that has a ton of those null characters in the name.  I'm guessing that is what is messing it up.

Thanks
We will try to complete the channel mapping. And attempt another conversion. What your saying definitely makes sense. Thanks again
