question on Vixen+ to xlights and import effects

I am wondering what I am doing wrong with the import effects function?

I created a sequence in xlights for the song I have sequenced in Vixen+.  I went to import>import effects and selected the sequence.  I import a model and then when I click on the channel column entries I get a drop down with nothing listed. 

What am I missing?  I have been able to import my sequence as a data layer so I can go that route if needed but wanted to see this method.  If there is a better way I'm all ears too.

There is no import available for Vixen+.  I believe we support Vixen 2.5 and maybe 2.1 but the guys I've seen talk about doing it say you gotta do things like flatten your profile into the sequence and I don't even know what that means.

I tried a flatten but that didn't work.  I'll go back to the data layers.  I did map another xlights sequence in and that worked fine.  I also tried manually editing the map file to add channel numbers but that didn't do anything.  Back to the data layers.  Thanks for the suggestion.

There were a couple users on Facebook this week that said they got the Vixen import to work.

I believe the vixen import will work for AC stuff, but not RGB.
