lost communication between F16 v2 and Xlights
« on: November 14, 2016, 09:45:59 PM »
I have been testing for a month now..  I decided to move ahead and hang my lights.  i was running fine and then Xlights crashed.  I have rebooted but have not been back up and running yet.  I have been hammering away for 13 hrs now...I downloaded 2016.52...and still nothing.  i have checked ,re checked, re re checked cables.. (I am just using 2 strings while i diagnose the problem.)  They both work.  I can run test patterns from the Falcon but cannot test from lights.

I and am putting up the white flag and asking for help...

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated..
Thanks

Open a webpage on the computer and bring up the F16v2 webpage and look at status.  Open xLights and start a new sequence by selecting 3 green buttons in a row to give you all models.  Now drop an effect on a model and click the Output To Lights button.  Check back on the F16v2 status page and make sure you see the number of packets received increasing.  If not then it's either a network problem or you don't have the correct IP address assigned in xLights or the wrong E1.31 universes defined in the F16v2.

Do you have networks defined on your setup page?  We can't see your screens so you either got to show some screenshots or post the relevant files.

So a brand new sequence crashes?  Do a Package Log Files and post the zip file.  That really should be the first thing posted when anyone is having crashing problems.

You should do a Check Sequence and try to clear out all the errors.  Also I can see you're on a MAC...it's best to tell us what OS you are using whenever problems are reported.
