180 tree vs 360 tree
« on: November 17, 2016, 09:25:55 PM »
Has anyone ever "mixed up" 180 trees and 360 trees in their display?   I am going to try to do all 360 trees this year, but I think my 5m tree might be a bit "thin" as a 360 tree; it only has 20 strings.  The others are smaller and should look ok.   So, I am thinking about converting the 5m tree to 180 and leaving the others at 360, but I am concerned that effects (e.g., spirals) look different on a 180 tree vs a 360 tree and might not look good when running as a mixture of 180 & 360 trees.   Thanks in advance!

I have one 180 and one 360. I like the 180 better.

Thanks James.   I wanted to try 360s this year because I like the way spirals look on them.

I should have been more specific. I like my 180 tree better because it has better resolution. My 360 is a copy from Brian Brudurer. It only has 25 pixels per strand. I might like it better if it had 50 or more per strand.

I agree, the spirals look cool.
