Using the F16v2 to operate a LOR controller
« on: December 23, 2016, 10:33:41 AM »
This is one of those drive you nuts things. I have multi F16 controllers operating over 20k channels and everything is perfect. I need to tie 1 controller to 1 LOR AC controller to operate 1 120vac light. I have the LOR controller cabled to the F16 and from my computer I can enter the F16 on board software and tell it to go to test mode and it does operate the light tied to the LOR controller. But from xlights something is wrong with the way I have it defined "I think" in set up.

Just checking to see if someone has already done this.

Thanks
Brad

I have set up my Lor controllers in xlights to run off of one of my pixel control boards without a problem but I don't have the F16. But without seeing your setup or your files anything I say would just be a guess

I don't see anything set up for 16 channels. So I'm not sure which output to look at and that still won't help me much without the RGB effect file. Last item you have set up on your network is open DMX on com 3 Santa lights. If that's it, it's definitely not mapped to your Falcon controller.

the address for the F16 is 192.168.2.63 and I am trying to come out of the 2nd dmx port. and yes that is correct
<network NetworkType="OpenDMX" ComPort="COM3" BaudRate="250000" MaxChannels="150" Description="Santa Lights"/>

That just happens to be the last attempt

any adjustments would be appreciated

the LOR controller is set at com 3 unit 1

What is it that you're trying to do with this one channel. If you're trying to turn on something like an inflatable your best bet would just simply hook up a timer.
And once again without an RGB effect file I can't follow your path to see what's wrong.
You also want to make sure that your Lor controller is set to unit 1. If you're using open DMX you will need a crossover cable to go from DMX to Lor. When you were hooked up to your Falcon controller you confirmed that you had communication between the two in test mode.

I have an internal light in side of an inflatable and an outside flood light that looks at the inflatable and they just turn on and off as needed in the sequence.
there no "rgb" effects, just  simple on and off commands

I will look over what you sent

thanks

OK we are closer,

now when in the test mode of xlights I can get the ports to operate the lights

 <network NetworkType="E131" ComPort="192.168.2.63" BaudRate="76" MaxChannels="510" Description="Santa Lights"/>

But when I set up the LOR controller as com 3 unit 1 should I have told it that it is NOT the controlling unit?

when testing one of the sequences it is still not operating

When controlling an AC controller in the sequence you must use white or your defined color for that prop. Start with a simple on command selecting white is the only color.
Of course this is assuming that you have the prop setup correctly. Under string properties string type needs to be set at single color.
