Twinkle effect not working as planned
« on: December 19, 2016, 10:10:54 PM »
I have AlphaPix4 controllers, 2 of them.
#1 is working as expected with the Twinkle effect.

#2, I took the sequence, copied & pasted in for the lights connected to #2
The Twinkle is group in 2's, 3's & even 4 pixels together.  This is different that the pixels on #1, each pixel colors & gets a new color after the dimming.

Using 2811 flat nodes on all pixels.

The controller test patterns all perform as expected.

Not sure where the issue is, would appreciate any insights.

Thanks
Rick

I seem to have to repeat this often.  The problem you are describing doesn't let me know what you are seeing in the xLights preview versus the real lights.  Does it look correct in the xLights preview?  Is it only the real lights that fail?

Gilrock,

The preview looked correct, its when it output to the pixels it was grouped.

I was reading some other threads & noticed that someone suggested a change to:

Layer Settings > Buffer > Render Style - single line.  This seemed to have the desired result.

Thanks

Is it possible the strip you are seeing the grouping on has 3 LEDs per chip?

I am using the pixel nodes.  No grouping that I saw in the controller config nor the Xlights.  I took the sequence from a known working one and copied it over.  It was odd, in a string of 50 pixels, some were grouped in two's, some we in three's and some in fours.

I don't think it was the controller, as the test mode didn't display this issue.

I could do some more debugging after the season, if you guys would like.
