Solved: Question about mapping channels from LOR import
« on: April 13, 2017, 08:33:05 PM »
Hi folks,

I purchased an LOR sequence from HolidaySequences and am attempting to import it into xLights.

I'm running into issues (I think) when it comes to the Channel Mapping tool. Here are the steps I'm taking:
  • Start a new audio sequence.
  • Add the appropriate display elements (in my case, 4 bulb models).
  • Select "import" from the xLights main menu.
  • Select the "import effects" submenu.
  • Select the target .lms file.
  • At this point, the attached "map channels" window opens.
  • Unfortunately, there aren't any options to make any modifications in that window ... maybe none are needed?
  • When I click the "Ok" button at the map channels window, nothing appears to be imported.
  • To test, I clicked the "Save mapping" button, I got the attached exported-mapping.png

A nudge in the right direction would be appreciated.

Kevin

I think I can see your problem.
There's 3 columns in the mapping dialog box, your middle column "Map To" appears to have been minimized.

Once you've expanded that middle column, you have to remember that you have to click in it twice to get the drop down then you can select the corresponding model section (at least in windows version you do)
I know just enough to be dangerous :0

You're right ozaz! That window is a bit messed up when it opens.
Thanks for the direction. I'll expand the columns and see if that helps.
