odd CCR problem, some nodes not working
« on: September 19, 2017, 06:10:58 PM »
Hi All,

I'm having a problem that I finally give up trying to figure out and hopefully someone can help me.  I've been importing my LOR sequences to xlights with no problem (using both convert and import effects) but there's one thing I cannot figure out.  I have 2 CCR spiral trees with one CCR string per tree and node 1 being at the bottom.  In LOR software, the CCR's are on track 2 and I've defined them as DMX channels 1-150 for tree one and 151-300 for tree 2.  On the F16v3, I have 2 universes setup with universe 1 being all the LOR AC boxes and universe two is the CCR's.  When I look at the verbose channel mapping, it shows my first tree node being converted as channel 514 when I thought it should be 513.  To help match it up, I've defined universe 2 in the f16 as serial port 2, start channel 514.  I've also made the model to reflect start channel of 514 for tree 1 and 554 for tree 2.  I've made sure to delete the macros in LOR and double checked all my DMX channels and it all matches in LOR and data actually shows in every node in xlights.  The problem I have is the top 5 or so nodes (so that would be the last 5 or so nodes on tree 2...channels 809 to 813 about, don't work.  Just black.  If I leave the macros in LOR and convert it to DMX, it works but then the top sections of both trees are the wrong color.  I have tried everything I can think of but just cant get the top nodes of tree 2 to work.  Other than that, everything works fine.  When I enter test mode in xlights, they test perfect with all nodes working.  Any idea what my problem could be?  The verbose channel map shows no conflicts or problems, the channel mapping (when I do it the import effects way) all matches up just like it should and even the data shows in the sequencer for all nodes.  I've also tried to define the strings as DMX, universe 2 in the layout tab and no difference.  I just am at my wits end with this.  Hopefully someone will have an idea.  Thanks for any help.

well, it was an odd deal but I finally figured it out.  For some reason, even though tree 1 had an end channel of 662, I had to make tree 2 have a start channel of 673.  I have the macros disabled in the LOR hardware but maybe somehow the controllers reserve the macro channels in the hardware or software somehow?  I have the macros deleted in the LOR software too and in my LMS sequence, the end of tree one is DMX channel 150 and the start of tree 2 is 151.  I cannot for the life of me figure this one out, but it finally works so I'm done questioning it or wasting time on it.  pheeeewwww.  glad this chapter of my LOR history is over.
