Mark / Indicator on waveform window at stop point
« on: October 17, 2017, 08:29:12 PM »
Is there any possibility of adding, if it doesn't already exist, a mark of some kind on, or around, the waveform window at the point that playback is stopped when sequencing. This to leave a visible indication of where you stopped on that occasion.

I personally found it a very useful function when sequencing in Vixen to have the end point of a phrase marked, roughly, at the projected end point of an effect, allowing the accurate end point to be set with ease.

if you goto this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9FyT6tOQxY , keith runs through some shortcuts. As for your requirement. right click on the actual time line and a set of numbers 0-9 will appear. You can then select and left click to add a number to the time line to signify a starting or stopping point or chorus or whatever... , not exactly what you want but close second maybe
Cheers Boof63 :D

Thanks Boof63, I discovered that function, and Keith's video about an hour after I put up the post, as you say it is certainly a workaround, if not ideal  :-)

No.  When playback is stopped it is not associated with any point.  If you want to see that then you should use Pause and then you get a nice red line.

Thanks Gill, that is about what I was looking for, it wouldn't go amis if it produced that "Nice Red Line" on a spacebar stop, but I guess that is another issue  :-)

Cheers, and thanks for the heads up!!

The timeline and waveform playback is modeled after Audacity.  You'll find xLights works the same as Audacity for the Spacebar.

Yes I have observed that, Audacity it is very similar to my weapon of choice for audio editing,"Cool Edit Pro" now known as "Adobe Premiere".
