Model Groups within Model Groups
« on: October 17, 2017, 02:48:02 AM »
Why is it that I can place some model groups within another model group but some don't show up as available to add?  I've tried to figure out the logic but it's escaping me.  Thanks in advance for the explanation.

I think I may have found my answer here

But please correct me if I'm wrong.  From what I'm seeing I shouldn't be using any groups within groups at this moment.

That was 10 months old post.  The reason you don't see some groups is because they aren't listed if they would create a circular reference.  Like you can't add a whole house group that contains the candy cane group to the candy cane group itself because it would loop infinitely trying to resolve the children.

Doh!  Didn't even realize.  That's what I get for trying to do this at 1:00AM.  Thanks Gil!

Actually, it was 2:30 AM when that question finally got me to put down the keyboard and go to bed.  Thanks for the question and the good answer.  "Knowledge is power, knowing is life."  (I don't remember who said that first, but if I am - wow.)
