Can you post some more details, maybe a screenshot or two, to show what you mean.

The only way it's possible for some effects to be rotated and not others is if you specify a rotation on the effect in the rotozoom settings.

i have added 3 pictures first is text across the entire tree which doesnt look good because i think xlights thinks it can see my ribbons from the back which in reality the leds are facing away so text is unreadable in the display

next picture is my sub group untouched and text is rotated when its supposed to be vertical

last picture is where i use the layer settings and manually rotate it but after its still unreadable.

i was watching the modeling sub groups video last night and i think it has to do with how xlights is rending the pixels i will need to rewatch to see i am not sure if i heard how to fix it in that video

ps is there a way to get rid of the human verification on each post?

A submodel is not going to display the text any better than that first screenshot.  The text does not stretch because the model wraps all the way around the tree.  Not sure why the submodel doesn't look good I'd have to have your files.

i was going to use the sub model for keeping the text, picture & video effects on the front and rear halves of my tree but i think i can use the layer settings as half to do what i want to do as well

If you have any open sequence even a new dummy one just use the Tools -> Package Sequence feature and post the zip file here.
