Crash on rendering
« on: November 18, 2017, 03:36:03 PM »
Hi,

I recently setup xlights on a new PC. My previous sequences load fine but when I try to render them it immediately crashes. I initially installed the 64 bit version but since I was using the 32 bit I back-tracked to that with the same issue. I'm assuming there is some setting I am missing with the new install. Log are attached. Thanks for any assistance.

Mike

It is both you and us ... clearly we shouldnt crash no matter what you do.

Your crash is occurring because of your star definition. Not sure what type of star you have but the settings dont mean what i think you think they mean. Maybe you could describe exactly what type of star it is.

I have the Holidaycoro triple row concentric star http://www.holidaycoro.com/product-p/124.htm

I never got it set correctly last year but I guess the old program didn't care about it. Let me go delete it and hope for the best.

Deleted the star and it rendered no problem. Thanks for the help. Now to figure out how to correctly add the star.

That's right it tripped up on some new code.

What sort of star is it? You have it as dumb rgb with 3 layers but just one string. That's what caused the crash. Without knowing actually how the star is built I can't tell you how you should define it.
