Corner property - xlights layout
« on: December 12, 2017, 12:20:45 AM »
Hi All.   I am "blessed" as I not only live on a corner, but I have an open back to a field as well visible from all over, so as I get into this hobby, I really have 3 sides + 1 busy corner to play with.  So here's the question - when people have corners with extended distances (100+ ft) and tree lines to work with, how are people representing the build in the layout?  Can you do multiple layouts in xlights using the same "setup" or would you just create a panorama view of at least two sides of the property?

I've kind of created a "3d" drawing that shows the corner, but not sure how I will be able to really plan the depth of the multi-dimension view on a 2d screen.    Open to ideas!  Thought about trying to draw the "panorama view" but can't figure out how to represent the corner, which could really be a showcase (it is today in static display) to plan it well.

thanks in advance

I have all the elements available in the sequence but I have two views that I use.  The main one is default which shows the front of my house and a second view I call "sideyard"  You can switch between the views in layout and at playback you can use the view menu to show the sideyard view.  I do not know if that is the best way but it works for me.
