Frosty the snowman
« on: December 14, 2014, 02:24:06 PM »
This thread will have my pgo and xml files for this version of Frosty: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjscH2WBWjw&list=RDvjscH2WBWjw

The song is about 2min long.

I took the video and am using it on the matrix I have. used this command to get my first picture...

ffmpeg -r 20 -i Frosty.mp4 -s 90x32 fr-%d.png

----
Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
and two eyes made out of coal
Frosty the snowman is a fairytale they say
He was made of snow but the children
know how he came to life one day
There must have been some magic in that
old silk hat they found
For when they placed it on his head
he began to dance around

Frosty the snowman
was alive as he could be
And the children say he could laugh
and play just the same as you and me
Thumpity thump thump
thumpity thump thump
Look at that Frosty go
Thumpity thump thump
thumpity thump thump
Over the hills of snow

Down to the village
with a broomstick in his hand
Running here and there all
around the square saying
Catch me if you can
He led them down the streets of town
right to the traffic cop
And he only paused a moment when
he heard him holler Stop

Frosty the snow man
was alive as he could be
and the children say
he could laugh and play
just the same as you and me

Thanks for this... I didn't do anything with the Papagayo stuff yet but I did use this to see what it would look like on a matrix I was going to build and its got me thinking I need more pixels.  I tried 42x32 and it didn't look that great.  Something close to 100x75 looked pretty awesome.

I have posted my xml file before on my setup....didn't for this post s that people can see that my display items are. My matrix is 90x32. It looks OK with it..not great though I'll admit. I didn't try 100x75 though. I will need a few more F16 boards before I can more than double up the matrix. I think at 100x75 I'll have my entire double car garage door covered. I'd be quite ok with that.  :)

Well I think I decided to go for 85x64 since that will make every 2 rows a universe and give about a 4:3 ratio.

Next spring Dave will have the falcon-16 v2. It can drive 32 strings from one board, FPP plugs into it.

Yeah I need to do a lightshow in late May and wanted to include this matrix so I need to get controller boards pretty quick.  I was looking at the Pixlite16 since it can do 5440 pixels which is exactly what I was planning.

Also Dave has created the falcon neo. It is meant for driving pixel matrices.
