Custom Model for Large Tree - Vertical strand help
« on: January 13, 2018, 09:51:58 PM »
Hi,

I have a large tree and I would like to have 15 vertical pixels strands with 200 pixels/strand start at the base of the tree and follow up the tree to around 30 feet.  The strands will be 2 inches apart at the base of the tree and I plan to space them 180 degrees around the front of the tree.

I created a custom model with 3000 nodes but I would like to control each strand as an individual strand but I'm not sure how to set this up.

Is this possible? How would I do this?

Thanks!
Jeff

setup model as normal. go into the sequencer and click on the tree model- this will open upmodel and display the strands and you can work on each strand that way.
Alternative is to go to submodels and setup individual strands in there.

15 strands 2" apart would only be a 30" stretch of lights at the bottom.  Sounds pretty narrow to me. 30ft tall x 5" radius base.   Normal tree shape is base circumference would be half the height so for a 30 ft tree you would be 15 ft dia base or 7.5 ft radius  Or maybe you are really talking about using a tree trunk as a pixel pole.  That would be a different story.
