My GIFs are looking awesome on Windows....how's your performance doing again?

My picture problem will eventually get fixed, your performance will only get worse :)

Sorry we are going to disagree so just move on before I have to smack you.

after some additional testing, I now firmly believe that the issue I was having has nothing to do with the Picture Effect.  I have opened a new thread.  It appears to really be an issue with the Text Effect and not the Picture Effect.

Gil, to each his own and that's not an issue.

Just wanted to follow up on this as I am getting back into the mix for xLights/setup planning for 2018...

Original Post was about the Text Effect and Animated GIFs causing a crash. This was with the REPO Version.

Instead of going through all the details, the text issue is fixed with the changes. The animated GIF issue was/is still there.

Strangely, though, I now have a fully functioning system (without the AppImage), by compiling from source. While that was a task from broken packages I fixed today,  no more crashes from either of these two issues.

What I am not understanding by a long mile, is why I would have the crashes on my system with the pre-build repo version, but not the AppImage or self-compiled version?

I would still prefer the repo version for updating reasons, I'm ok with re-compiling to have all features as I feel this is a more native installation approach, I'm seeking any sort of feedback that might answer this oddity.

Otherwise, preparations for a 2018 Halloween and Xmas show are beginning. :)
