To Deactivate, or to not -That is the question
« on: July 01, 2018, 07:59:34 PM »
If we deactivate Universes in the Setup tab (such as parts that aren't used for the current holiday), are the places that they represent in the .fseq file maintained or are the active universes below them moved up in the .fseq list?

I have several controllers that are not used for every display I do.  I have been leaving them in the setup list for xLights, and then just unchecking "Universe Active" in FPP.  Experimenting today by deactivating them in xLights has left some interesting, but not totally understood problems.

Just trying to find out for sure.

Thanks.

I believe deactivate is only meaningful when outputting to lights via xLights.  Rendering to FSEQ files shouldn't  be changed by those settings.

Gil is right. Deactivating them just stops xLights sending out the data. All the data is still rendered and saved to the fseq.
