Configuring chained models with different patterns
« on: September 07, 2018, 01:50:42 PM »
I am sure this is probably just a configuration issue I am having but I have a Falcon F48 and on one of the ports I have 3 window models that I have all connected together sharing the same data/power connection. In xLights i have each window a different pattern and looks correct but when I output them to the actual controller they act as one long string and dont act independently.

I have the second window's channel start from the end of the first window and the third window's channel start from the end of the second.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong here, do I have to have each window on its own port to have them act independently?

You'll get better help if you post screenshots of everything relevant to the setup of these models in xLights and in the controller.

Here is my network setup in xLights

https://photos.app.goo.gl/WiBihrChoRgxFonE6

This is how I have my first window setup and the rest start off the end (ie. second starts at the end of first and third starts at the end of the second)

When I upload the information to the F48 I have these settings

And finally this is how it should look as seen from xLights

I feel like I am missing something I just dont know what?

I am just starting out with XLights so I could be wrong. A couple things. You have your Universes set up as 510 channels. On your first window you have the start channel as Universe 2 channel 511 (Absolute channel 1021)? Absolute Channel 1021 is actually Universe 3 channel 1.  On your port configuration, you have your single string start at channel 1 and your Window Frame starting at Channel 1. You have some overlapping channels here.

Yes he's right it looks like you are mixing notations.  If you use Universe/Channel notation then the first channel in universe 2 should be obtained with #2:1 not #2:511.  511 is the absolute channel number for universe 2 channel 1.
