Clipboard Exports in LOR-S5 .lcbformat
« on: September 26, 2018, 08:49:45 AM »
On the off chance that I am not able to run my show from xLights driving all of my many LOR controllers, I have been attempting to export S5 clipboards from xLights of just my matrix and bring them into LOR Sequencer. After some working with my methods a kind individual last night helped me and we got that working - it seemed to work much better exporting with the windows version rather than the Mac version - I was able to successfully import the S5 clipboard created on the Windows machine into my LOR Sequencer - and it plays - BUT - it seems that when the song reaches the point where I add in a Faces Effect all output to the clipboard ceases (or at least I can say that all light on the matrix cease to light up - I don't know what is in the clipboard file actually - but nothing is shown in the sequencing grid at that time in the song). The song continues to play for it's full duration and at the end, some graphics appear again where the Faces Effect is no longer used.

I am not certain what you would want to see...but have attached the sequence and the clipboard file, and from my ...if you want to see more, let me know. From the Windows machine: MonterMash.zip & Matrix-MonMash.zip.

Further to this - I exported the Matrix as an Uncompressed Video (avi) - tried to import that onto a Movie effect on my matrix in LOR and it said it could not read any frames in that file.

So I double clicked the avi file to watch it as a movie - it appear to have exported from xLights in a viewable format - BUT the Faces Effects are not there - just all the other effects on the matrix - everything else is there =- images, shapes, etc....just no Faces. This is the same issue I had with the clipboards I was trying to import - no faces included. I tried it on both my Mac and on my Windows machine with the same results on both.

Would need to see the sequence to understand why. I assume it shows up ok then you render and play in xlights.

Well I don't see anything happening on Matrix in xLights for the Faces effect either so it's not going to export what's not there.  Not sure if something is wrong with packaging sequences but the Scientist face images aren't there except for 2

He plays perfectly in the GUI....all of his images - I also use two of the images as simple graphics in a couple of places in a picture effect. so that would make sense that you'd see two of them - the rest_eo and rest_ec I believe.

The Mad Scientist sings the whole song - and then a dracula singing face comes up later in the song to say a line when it's his turn. Igor shows up late in the sequence but is not a singing face, just graphics.

I'll attach the xml file of the sequence so you can see that the faces are there. Also, a screenshot of my sequencing grid showing the faces effects in place.

Well as soon as I imported a different face and switched an effect to it I saw a face singing.  The images for that scientist were not included with your zip file.   How exactly are you creating the clipboard is it right-clicking on the row header for the Matrix?

Yes - I right clicked the row header and chose Export - then picked LOR S5 Clipboard. I will comment, however, that the Export as an uncompressed avi also ignores the singing face. Also, that I have done it with several attempts with several sequences and the same happens in every case. I have also done it on my Mac and on my Windows machine with the same result on either.

I have also tried it by selecting all model effects and not selecting all model effects prior to choosing Export....netiher has seemed to make any difference to this.

I am continuing to have this export issue. Any thoughts on a possible work around or solution?

using .35.....I created an exported S5 Clipboard and attempted to paste it into LOR-S5 onto my matrix (only exported the clipboard for jus the matrix in xLights). I received the following message in S5 (Yes - this is an LOR message - but I still thought it might tell you something):
" Clipboard
A problem occurred while reading the clipboard 'Matrix-MonMash":
Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
Paramter name: index."

So - it would appear that some problem still exists with creating S5 clipboards...at least for me.
I sure don't see how I could be doing something boring in the process because it is a simple right-click menu choice - done on the top line fo the matrix in my sequence - but if I am missing a step, I'd love to learn that was all it took!!!!!
I will tell you what I do...I open the sequence, scroll down to my matrix, right-click on the first layer (topmost layer), choose render and export, pick S5 clipboard and give it a name. Then I place that created file into the Clipboards folder in the LOR software. I close out of xLights, open up LOR-S5. Open a new sequence with the correct audio file, scroll to my matrix, set the clipboard to my newly created one, click in the first matrix block, right-click and choose Paste.....it says it is pasting and after a few seconds the above error message appears.

I was also told to try enabling channel level pasting in the grid in S5 - and I tried pasting at the channel level and got the same error at the same time in the process..

Well none of the developers use LOR S5 so the only way that type of thing gets implemented or corrected is some user sends us a clipboard and we try to match it.  Or they just open up the clipboard in Notepad++ and tell us what we are doing wrong.  You could create a clipboard directly in LOR and then try to compare with what xLights creates.  It has to be an exact number of channels match also.

I'll try creating a clipboard of the same exact thing (obviously can't be a Feces effect - but maybe an image would suffice)...then compare them and see if I can tell what it is.
