xLights 2017.19 64bit on MAC OS --- VAMP plugins?
« on: July 18, 2017, 06:57:24 PM »
I have xLights 2017.19 64bit on my MAC 27-inch.  I am trying to figure out how to have the timings automatically created for my sequence.  I can import my MP3 fine, but I do not understand the steps of how to have xLights process the audio file and add the timing marks.

None of the YouTube videos I've watched on this seem to match my MAC software.

Does the MAC-versions of xLights include the VAMP plugins????

Please help!  Thank you so much.

The Mac version of xLights does not include or install the VAMP plugins automatically.  You have two options available...

1.  Download and install Audacity (free program).  The plugins are included and installed during the installation process, and xLights will use those.

2.  Download the VAMP file and copy the 3 files to a specific folder location on your hard drive.  https://code.soundsoftware.ac.uk/attachments/download/1603/qm-vamp-plugins-osx-v1.7.1.tar.bz2

Once installed, run xLights and when you go to the sequence settings to add timings, you will have the full list of QM VAMP audio options to choose from.

I didn't want to start a new topic when this was what I was looking for. Though I'm still not seeing the vamp plugin in xlights. I used to have it long ago but lost it when the mac went down. started fresh, I have the vamp plugin, also have audacity installed. if I take the 3 files for the plugin, where do I put them? I saw a post online talking about 2 folder locations but they didn't mention the second location.

any help?
