Recently, within the last version or two of xLights, probably, I've started seeing that when I import a sequence (first saw it with an LAS, now doing it with LMS files too), the effects are all coming in at the wrong brightness levels. It appears to be "squished down", or ratio'ed, in the sense that what should be 100 brightness on the 'On' effects, they're coming in at 39, and things that were at lower-than-100 brightness in LOR are coming in at some yet smaller than that.

There's far too many individual effects for me to practically change them 1-by-1 or to edit the .XML in Notepad++ to proper values, as it's just a heap of work to make that happen and I have too many sequences to import & set up in xLights / put on an FPP. Anyone seen this issue?

I've tried to roll back to an older version of xLights, but every single one I install now, whether it's over a different version or in its own folder, gives me an Unhandled Exception after the splash screen. It'll go so far as to ask me what the starting show folder should be on a fresh install, but throws the unknown exception immediately afterwards. Any advice on this issue, either? I can't even roll back to an old version to test whether I still have this issue or not. Super frustrating.  :-\

Thanks in advance, guys.

Well the value 100 is 39% if the scale is 0 to 255 so when converting a DMX value from a scale that goes to 255 the value 100 would be converted to 39 for an On effect since they are on a 0 to 100 scale.

I ran into the roll back problem myself last night.  Not sure what's changed but you don't seem to be able to roll back between versions due to some recent changes.

Aye, I'd noticed the relationship that 100 / 255 = .39

So it appears like it's a bug with it converting the values from a scale of 0-255 to 0-100. Because it has certainly worked properly in the past, converting 255 to 100 and so on.

Yeah not sure what that problem is. Maybe a change Scott made as I don’t recall making a breaking change but maybe I did.

Well without you providing us anything from the file you are bringing in no way to prove whether the problem is on your end or not.  Some LOR channels listed as Intensity use a different scale and have never come in right.
