I'm pretty new to working with Xlights.

Tree is playing animations/patterns, but is offset 90 degrees.

Here is how my display is laid out.

HOUSE HOUSE HOUSE

             MT
             32

STREET STREET STREET

If looking at it this way, Strand 1 is at 9:00, 9 is at 6:00, 17 is at 3:00, 25 is at 12:00

When I set the tree up, I was thinking I would be able to have it play sequences designed for  16 strand 180 degree tree on Universe 1-16, and have 17-32 blanked out for animations, and then have the full tree up for non animations using whole tree effects.

I haven't been able to make that work, and I'm not even sure if I can.  Video is playing centered at the 3:00 position, right around strand 17.

I think I can rotate it using the rotation line in the layout tab for the tree, haven't had a chance to see if the tree does electronically rotate if I do that. What I did notice is that the model preview window in the sequencer now just shows me side of the tree running the sequence.

Is there a way to "electronically rotate" the physical tree in the yard, but still have the model preview face forward? I could go unplug and replug then reseal all 32 connectors, but if there is an easy software fix, I'd like to do that.

Second thing that I have tried searching for but can't find:
Is there a way to have sequences I have bought that were designed for a 16 strand tree just play on the "front 16". Right now xlights is stretching them horizontally. I tried playing with import effects and "use exact horizontal size" I'm getting prompts asking for "Choose Location and Base Name of Image Files" and I'm not sure what to feed it.

What I'm Trying:
Import-Import Effects. (Superstar file from HolidayCoro sequence purchase)
Select Model (Pick my megatree)
Image Resizing: EXACT WIDTH

I then get the base  name and image files window.

System Info:
Xlights 2018.52 64 bit
HolidayCoro AlphaPixel32 controller connected via Cat5 cable
HolidayCoro 32 Strand Megatree. 32 x 50 pixel strands

Probably other ways but a sub model with just the strands that you want may work?

Got it rotated. Will just start hookup at 12:00 next year and take the -90 offset out of the model so it displays right in the preview.

Still working on the getting only the front 16 to display.

Just create a submodel of the front 16.

Cool. That worked. I appreciate it.

Next dumb new guy question.

Since I was dumb and put my strand 1 at 9 o'clock instead of the back, is there a way to view the model in xlights from the side I can look at it as it sits on my lawn without jacking with the sequence?

I don’t think so.
