Pixel tree Setup
« on: December 21, 2018, 06:55:00 AM »
I am going to change 2 of my spiral trees to pixel trees next year & need to know what people are using for the top to hold the pixel strips. I found this one at Holiday Coro but I know there is at least one other mfg.
http://www.holidaycoro.com/productdetails_popup.asp?productcode=750-QT2

The tree will be 12' strips with 70 pixels spaced 2" 180 degree with 16 strips.
Thanks Mike

Mike, I have a QT2 that I would make you a heck of deal on.  But I would not buy one.  Worked great for two years but you have to push the strip thru the slit and then put two zip ties thru each strip after bending the end of the strip over.  Taking it down meant pushing each strip up a little and cutting off each zip tie.  I put two floor flanges on mine - one to mount to my pole and one to hold my star on top.  That also strenghtened the QT2 and it worked great.  Just too much work.  I bought two steel toppers from Boscoyo for my two trees and added J hooks to them.  Now I just hook the strip over the J hook and go.  Much easier to put up and take down.  If I was starting over I would buy from Random Bond , aka Randy Johnson.  https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2107671732599888&set=ecnf.100000712462620&type=3&theater  There is a web presence for his toppers, but I do not know where it is.
Maybe someone else knows and can post a link.
