LOST all of my models

I started my show and it appears it will not run....I did a preview and all of my models are gone.  What file do the model definitions reside in?

xlights_rgbeffects.xml. You probably have many copies of them in the backup sub directory below your show folder.

Every time you press "File,Backup" you get a full copy

This happened to me also. For some freak reason, I lost ALL of my models also. Not sure what happened. I rebuilt manually from scratch. --Greg--

Found the backup...It seems that the file was overwritten at the same time I re-loaded Xlights 3.6.6.  Thanks for the help.

please tell me you are doing "File,Backup EVERY time you edit any sequences.
It only takes one second and the files are very small. You should be able to store hundreds or thousands of backups.

when you get to 100 models (Like i have), I would hate to think i need to recreate them/.

No no no.   I don't have any pre-release code/executables.  That was a simple one liner in notepad saved as a VBS file.

It's one thing to tell someone what you'd like and another to show them, that's all.

xlights showed an error cant load xlights_rgbeffects.xml and then it seemed to have killed my file. Backup also

I havent lost my file (yet) but there have been times where i found multi0le copies of xlights running at once... many apps will block this from happening to prevent overwriting data.  Maybe this needs to be fixed/prevented.  I dont know this to be the cause of your original problem.

Dave and I have already discussed this. Yes, there will be auto backup.

We also discussed an undo command
