Always updating

It is okay to update a software program, but it seems like you guys are constantly updating this thing just about every week. It seems to me that this program will NEVER be done if people keep asking for this and that. Also this keeps making it harder and harder to learn.
Don't get me wrong, I really like this program and am having trouble getting it to work properly with me coming from Light o Rama. I really want to use this program next year, but with some of the updates, things don't work right and we have to reload an earlier version.
When is it time to say enough is enough?.

Feel free to move back to lor. Vixen also updates only a couple of times per year.

I think it’s a valid observation.  There can be significant changes from season-to-season.  And it’s almost necessary to always use the most updated-versions (especially when using FPP along w xLights).

And for those that don’t always keep informed through the off-season, it can be a bit of a struggle to quickly get caught-up.  It even presents a challenge for keeping the user-manual current.

So new/added features are always appreciated, but they can present a challenge for “average” (?) users.

Like I say feel free to go elsewhere or choose a version and stay there. It is the way we choose to develop and release the software. Other projects may be a better match to your needs.

Yeah it does bug me that some people can't be bothered to pay attention all year and then come November they want everyone's help.

It is the same on both of the primary sequencers. 

xLights puts out the changes directly to the people.  (How many last year?)

Vixen may only put out "official releases" once each year with bug fixes to follow shortly there after, but there are many "development releases" as the year goes along.  Almost as many as xLight releases.

In both of them, it is nice to see responses (and usually quick responses) fixing problems and upgrading the software.  It is sometimes a pain in the backside to keep up, but the xLights method of updating is pretty quick and easy.

Sorry, I don't see how this is a valid point at all.  Whatever version works for you, turn off check for updates and never visit xLights.org again.  Problem solved.  And then thank the developers for making such a great version, or better yet, donate.
