E682 Setup
« on: December 05, 2019, 10:52:49 PM »
Hello I am a newbie with this but what I am tring to do is patch my universes from my e682 controller into xlights

So let say I have 1 set of pixels 50 that  I have them plugged in like this

Universe 1 port 1-2

Universe 2 port 1-2

Universe 3 port 1-2

Universe 4 port 1-2

that is a total of 8 set of pixels but I can not get the show to run to my controller or lights

Thanks for any help in advance

Post some screen shots of your setup in xLights and your controller.

The are some great beginner videos on how to get started

Jump into the Zoom meeting and most likely there will be somebody there that can help you.

here are the 2 images
and I am not sure how to do join a Zoom meeting

When I add an effect to the model each model works with the same channel

when I upload to controller in Xlights then all the outputs are removed but the first one

Your controller is set to unicast and your xLights setup is multicast

You have universe overlap on bank 3 and 4.  Bank 3 ends on universe 4 channel 138 but bank 4 starts on universe 4 channel 1.

Go to the xLights main page and click the Zoom button

thanks for letting my know how to get into the zoom meetings.
I have updated the controller and xlights.
On my controller I have 1 string plugged into
1 string into 1-1
1 string into 2-1
2 strings into 3-2 and 3-4
1 string into 4-1
Do I have the controller and xlights set to power all the strings
as I can get the strings that are plugged into
1-1
2-1
4-1
these stings are working fine but the ones that are plugged into 3-2 and 3-4 are not powering at all

How many strings do you have? You talk about 5 now and 8 in first post but you have your controller configured for 7. Why are you jumping around with port?  Why not start on 1-1 and go until your are done? Check you layout to make sure it matches how you have the controller configured

It sounds like you are using 2 ports for each section so you need Outputs in Use to be 2 for all 4 of them.

Hi, I have issues too with my lights not performing as they should. I test them on my E682 controller webpage and they all light up but when I transfer to the xlights layout, some strips stay off. I'm attaching my configuration images, can anybody pinpoint my mistakes so I can correct them? Thanks

Pixel noob I don't see anything wrong but I feel you make it harder on yourself trying to define in the controller first and then shove it into xLights.  I would just create a single output in xLights for the controller and then define the port numbers in xLights for each model and push the configuration.  Lookup Scott's video on the death of start channels at videos.xlights.org.

I agree with starting in xLights then moving to controllers.

Is your controller receiving any packets?

You gotta delete the other outputs first you are trying to create a new output that overlays the existing outputs.
