need help fast
« on: December 10, 2019, 06:52:10 PM »
I noticed this evening that my program is stalling. I looked in the forum and seen that the version I had stalling issues. So I did something I do not normally do, I upgraded..  Now I have a popup message " The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140.dllwas not found. Reinstalling may fix this problem"  Am I to reinstall the Xlights program or what. I cannot even get into the program   HELP  Charlie J.

I found a second file that did not down load VCRUNTIME140.dll .  I also went to xlights in my web browser and reloaded xlights , getting the same error codes.  Help  Charlie J.

Goto the xLights download webpage in this picture and click the link where we describe how to get rid of those errors.

Thanks, I jumped into zoom (my first time) And they told me the same thing. But for now I went back to 2019.65 and its working. If I see stalling I will load the c++ into my computer.  thanks  Charlie J.

I was running .66 and it had issues where if you use 40 fps sequences you would see stutter.  So upgraded to .69.  You should just always install into a new folder that way you have all the versions and can switch in a matter of seconds.

As an update, I went back to the earlier xlights version and all worked fine. After Christmas I looked at the versions and the update window I seen that if I did not load C++ I could have issues. I updated xlights and C++ and all seems well. I have my lights stored and will test come summer after I redo some props. I do not expect any problems though.   Thanks for a good light show this year.  Charlie J.
