Rotating around the vertical axis
« on: March 05, 2020, 11:03:35 PM »
I'm building a double mega tree (for modular and other reasons) but some effects just don't line up quite right.  When mapping a spiralling effect on the whole model, it ends up looking like 2D diagonal bars.

I can apply the spirals to each model and they do render properly, but they line up 180 degrees from where they need to be.

With only 2 spirals I can fake it by changing the order of the colors, but with 3 colors or anything more complex, I could really use a rotating option.  I can't quite figure out the Roto-Zoom Layer Setting  :/

You can see in the pictures where it doesn't line up.

First thing to realize is the tree is really represented as a flat object so you don't need a rotation you need a horizontal shift.  I'd imagine you could fake it by using oversized buffers between the 2 models and stagger each buffer in X.
