My previous sequencer, HLS had a very power feature, the ability to create zones or you might think of them as virtual models from your existing models.
I've attached two screenshots of my display showing potential ways to use these zones. The first example has taken my whole house and created 24 radial zones. You can see a sequence of mine demonstrating the use of these radial zones. In The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year (https://youtu.be/lvVR5KHkR8o) I use these radial zones right at the start of the song. In Grinch (https://youtu.be/HPJSFchQakU) I use the vertical zones.
I know in xLights I can group models but what made HLS powerful is that I could group only parts of models into this new zone/model. That made it super powerful. The ugly part unfortunately was that I had to create these models "by hand", meaning I got a list and I had to type the name of each pixel into that list one by one. That was painful.
It would be nice if in xLights I could just ask xLights to create X number of vertical groups and then it would create these new zone models for me. Or for radial zones I could give it a center location (X,Y) and how many zones I wanted and it could create these zone models for me.
