Can I create "virtual" strings of lights?
« on: December 25, 2020, 10:49:55 PM »
I have 2 separate pixel strip models. One is a straight line and the other is a circle that intercepts the straight strip in the middle.  I've attached a diagram that shows what this looks like. The circle strip intercepts the straight strip at LED 100. I'd like to combine these two separate models and create one "virtual" strip of pixels, but the layout needs to be like this:

1. Straight strip pixels 1 thru 100
2. then circle strip from 1 to 100
3. then straight strip pixels 101 to 144

With this combination I'd be able to do chase effects that make it look like the chase is doing a loop (using the circle as the loop). It's a neat effect.  Is there anyway to do this in Xlights?

Sure you can do it multiple ways.  3 models in a group.  A Polyline model can do it also.  A couple other ways also.
