Changing or adding lyric word in a lyric timing track

I have done it before but I think maybe the way to do this has changed.

When I double-click a word in the track area it just starts the timing track and does not bring up the editor box.

Try shift-double click.
There is a setting to choose which you want to use for which function. I'm just not finding it at this moment.
