Two routers as a mesh network controlling two Falcon F48s
« on: September 08, 2021, 05:51:20 PM »
I currently have a WiFi router connected to a Falcon F48. I'd like to add a second WiFi router to the same network to create a mesh network, and then have a second F48 connected to that router. I'm thinking I should be able to setup that second F48 in xLights to run a larger display, just as long as I have all of my IP addresses configured correctly on the boards and routers, and have the two boards and universes setup and configured correctly in the Controllers tab in xLights, correct?

Is there a reason you want to use WiFi for heavy data transmission in your show?

WiFi for direct E1.31 streaming is a disaster waiting for packet drops and lights freezing.
Not to mention I have thoughts that your mesh system will have it's on delay introduced.

If the routers are close enough to be a mesh then the F48s are close enought to be run as remotes.  No need to get a second router involved here.
