I am running xLights ver. 2021.37 on a Mac and have a Falcon F16V3 controller with no expansions and/or serials. The controller is connected to Raspberry Pi 3B+ ver. 4.6.1.

I added my controller with the information selected. I think I have selected the correct information and boxes. I have attached a picture of my controller selection in xLights. I have it set to 96 universes and 510 channels per, obviously totaling 48960 channels.

In the layout tab any model I select and draw in the starting channel will go to 4896, no controller, no port selected. I have to add to port 1 or what ever number I want. Then I have to go to the controller tab, select my only controller, click on visualize, and assign each of the models to the controller one by one. If I did not enter a number for the port, while in the layout tab, the model will not show up in visualizer.

I have installed xLights and reinstalled. Deleted all files I could find with xLights information. I believe there is some deep rooted files that I cannot find because when I uninstall/reinstall the first boot up xLights is looking for my previous show folder. So that tells me files are somewhere deep in the terminal.

Any help is appreciated!
Thank you

Have you seen a video or something that makes you think its supposed to work differently?  It sounds to me like you are able to get things setup you just expected it to flow differently.  To be honest I worked on the program for years and I get confused with some of this auto controller setup stuff.  I can usually stumble through and get it setup but its kinda programmed so that its great if you know the right boxes to check but if you get partway through not having done things exactly right and then have to change some of those controller checkboxes it can be messy to fix it up.

I had made a few shows last year with the same controller and an update or two in-between that would auto assign each model directly behind the next model and to my only controller. So I know it has worked the way I am hoping it should. It just seems not correct to jump to one channel past my last channel.

I have added a faux controller along with my controller and the models I set up in the layout tab will be one channel past the total channels of both controllers. So much more work than I remember from last year.

Yeah hopefully the guys who know more about that will show up.  That part of the program is one of my weakest I'd need to experiment and dig into the code.  Sometimes it helps if you can run with an older version and be able to report how it used to work versus how its working now and provide version numbers then they can say whether the change is intentional.
