xlights sequencer page setup

I am going to want to transfer my xl files from one win10 pc to another.  I don't want to transfer the file that affects the layout screen in the seqencer.  Which file is it, and will it hurt anything to not transfer it back and forth?

without the  xlights_rgbeffects.xml file the sequences wont have any reference to the props. So it will yell at you about missing props. Perhaps that is your plan - but that is the consequence of not copying that file.

If going back and forth between two computers besure to keep your file paths the same.  For instance on my Dektop I keep all my xlights data files on my D drive at d:/xlights.  On my laptop I only have my one drive so I bought a 64gb nano USB drive and keep that as drive D.  Then I copy all my stuff from the desktop to a D:/xlights folder and all file paths remain the same.

I may not have made myself clear.  I downloaded a clean copy of 2022.2 to a win10 pc with no previious versions of xl.  Of course, there was no show directory yet.  The sequencer screen was laid out like I want, with the effects boxes docked up near the various effects icons, and the waveform below them.  I want to keep that screen layout the same on both PC's.  Just looking for a way to insure that the effects boxes don't move around.

Oh .. that is stored in the registry. I dont know how to retrieve that .. I guess you could export the registry if you hunted around for it.

I do not bother with that but I think you are talking about the tools > perspective options.  Not sure where that is stored.  But try it and see.

I thought we stored the perspectives in the xlights_rgbeffects.xml file but can't say with 100% confidence.  I'm pretty sure when I reproduce show folders from users that it comes up in the layout that they use.
