Norton Security software see UDP port activity with Xlights
« on: September 24, 2015, 01:42:49 PM »
I was using XL today, when Norton security Software showed outgoing UDP activity...never had that before...see the screen shot attached

Is this normal?  I may have had the lights output button on.

Did you have the output to lights ticked at any time ?

Is your question more around that you did not have it ticked and so why is there activity ?

I really have no idea about any UDP activity.

It appears that you have one or more of you networks setup as multicast.  Multicast communicates via UDP.  It is trying to connect to the network/device which is configured.

You probably want you to ask Mr Norton nicely to allow that data through...

Thanks guys...Yeah, it was when the "lights" were activated that I got the firewall block.  It kind of worried me because at the time i was at Washington Reagan airport using free WIFI.  All good know!  I asked Mr. Norton to allow the output..

Thanks Again
