No House Preview or Model Preview

I'm using version 4.2.15 and I cannot get the model or House preview to work when playing an imported sequence.

I imported the xml channel and rgb effects and network.  the sequence area shows ALL of the effects and timing marks but when I play the song the house preview and model preview do not work.

Before I play the song you can see the house preview will all the varios models laid out, but once the sequence is selected it all goes away.

Any help is appreciated.

Did you start in a new folder with the shared data?  That is the only way to see the data as the donor had it in their layout.  To put The sequence into your own layout you need to import the xml into your own show folder using the import function on the top menu.

yes, I did put in new folder,  I  want to watch it before putting in my show folder

You also must have the donors rgbeffects and a network file, but does not have to be the donors.

Did you make a new folder and put in that folder, the sequence xml, the the rgbeffects and network file and the music file?   Works great for me.  You switch xlights setup to that folder, open the xml file, click on a model and I get both the house and model window.  You may have to click on the green render button the first time thru, but it works as it should.

I had similar issue with shared sequence.  I was using a PC with only one monitor at first.  Changed to a dual monitor setup and found the previews were on the second monitor.

Close xLights and edit the xlights_rgbeffects.xml file and delete the entire Perspectives section and when you reopen xLights the windows will go back to defaults.  We need to add a reset.  Most people could solve this problem by creating a default perspective that has all the windows on one monitor and then use a different perspective for dual monitors.
