Anyway, if you check the links to my dropbox folders in the first post you should find everything  ;) required for the 2 sequences

Logan,
I found the XML file for MJ265 in the MJMIX dropbox, but there was no XML sequence file in the star wars drop box.  All the GIFs, animations, MP3, etc are there, but I'm missing the sequence.  Did you move it out of the folder by accident?  If not, what am I missing.  Thanks!  Really excited to try and adapt your song to my house.  It is AWESOME!

Regards,

Rob

I did go the the folder at the start of the thread.  No xml in the Dropbox now.   Had it happen on other projects where the file is moved by the owner when they meant to copy it.   Thanks

Finally figured out my stupidity.  The xml files are attached to thread and not in the Dropbox.  If you are not logged into the forums (like I was at the start) you don't get the attachments.

Got the StarWars one working on my show last night.   Very cool.   I have a lot of non-RGB items and don't have a full house outline (definitely thinking about it for next year now) so it definitely ends up with a different feel to it, but it's still awesome.

This was really well done.  It looks amazing.  My big weakness is sequencing so I was taking a bit of time to see how you put this together.

I was trying to determine how the lightsaber worked at the beginning of the sequence.

When I pulled in the xml file it plays as expected on my display, however, I can't for the life of me figure out how the lightsaber scene works.

My mega tree has two layers and during the scene my first layer shows an "off effect" and the second layer is empty.... yet the lightsaber is there in the model preview window.  What am I missing.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

bajadahl,
I had the same issue.  You have to go back and reimport and map each of the 12 strands to 12 strands on your tree.  I'm guessing it's because you have more than 12 strands.  I ended up mapping string 1-12 to 6-18 or something like that to get it to show on the front of my 360 degree tree.

My reference to "everything" in the Dropbox is misleading sorry. The xml file for star wars is an attachment in the first post of this thread.

No worries - Want to thank you again for sharing.  I have the correct XML file I was just surprised by how it populates the models.   I even started with a completely empty show folder and copied your rgb_effects file and I get the same result where I don't see the correct effect on the timeline for your mega-tree during the light saber sequence.  It shows up as the "off" effect yet the effect plays the light sabers perfectly.  (needless to say that really confuses me)

If you can share what effect it shows up for you I would be grateful.

Alan

Double click on the megatree model.   That should expand the strands.  The light sabers are strand effects, not model level.

Basically what Dan said. If you head back to page 2 of this thread you will see a post of mine that shows a couple of screen shots of the effects done at the strand level.

Thanks for posting up the sequence. Looks great (if I can say that  ;D).
It's fun seeing the sequence on different displays because even though its the same basic sequence,  it comes out with it's own unique look and feel on every different display. I like the candy canes going up and down to the beat. I think R2D2 comes out better on your tree.

Dan's show looks great! The effect at 1:53 or so just after R2D2 is very cool looking on his tree.

Now to go see if Dan shared his let it go sequence. his tree looks awesome on that show too :)
