360 degree Small Pixel Tree Setup
« on: December 05, 2015, 02:26:09 PM »
I have 6 small pixel trees that have a total of 16 “virtual” strings that are 14 pixels each. Each “virtual” string is part of a 56 pixel string that is folded 4 times. The problem is it looks great in xLights, however when I play the real tree every other string is upside down. With my mega tree I just reversed every other string in the controller (ECG-P2). Unfortunately the controller only allows you to configure 4 strings per universe and I have 8 strings per universe.

Is there a way to flip each string in xLights? I tried making a custom tree but it didn’t work.

thanks

I would have a model tree 360. Actual number of strings is 1. Total is 56. Strands would be 4.

Afterwards, open up the model list, select the model and select node layout. You should see how things are arranged.

James,
After reading your post a couple times and reviewing the manual again I think I understand the setup right.

I attached a picture of my setup.
I had my configuration; Actual # of strings 16, # RGB Nodes per string 14, # Strands per string 1
I changed it to Actual # of strings 4, # RGB Nodes per string 56, # Strands per string 4

Thanks for clearing me up. I'll change all my trees and see what happens.
