Hybrid Channel Preview
« on: January 14, 2014, 07:58:39 AM »
Would it be possible to add some fields to define the hybrid channels for an object when defining the model?  And then in the preview when channel X, Y, or Z has a non-zero value, the entire object is shown in the appropriate color?

In my show, hybrid channels are handled 2 ways: the DLA way - the first 3 channels of the string, and the Falcon way - hybrid channels grouped together anywhere in the universe.  User entry solves the problem for these paradigms.

IMHO, the xL/NC preview is user friendly and easy to build.  I don't necessarily need a picture of my house in the background, but I would like to see the hybrid colors.

For my eaves I created two models.  the first being a single strand of RGB and using channels for every node as usual.  the second was a dumb string with the requisite number of nodes that used the first 3 channels.  I then have two lines on my preview one right next to the other.  This lets me show the hybrid use from my old sequences and also show the use using pure node mode.   One of the reasons I did two models was to be able to turn off hybrid mode as I updated sequences and needed to stop the hybrid mode from overriding my new single strand effects.  Worked good.  Just put a color wash of black on the hybrid model and the hybrid programming is gone.
