Release 2016.4 works perfectly with both of my directories but I am seeing a issue with the new release 2016.6 for some reason my show directory that I used last year will not open and will cause Xlights to quit working, if I change the name of the directory so Xlights can not find it upon opening and then select the new named file it will crash Xlights once it tries to open it. At this time I have a new show directory for this year that does not have all of my models in it and it will open fine using 2016.6. Attached are the two rgb effects, and network settings from last year and this year. if you need any other info please let me know.

Thanks
Richard

I didn't have an option to change the install directory during install.

I did not change the install directory I changed the name of the show directory so that when Xlights opened it could not find the show directory it was pointing to

You still have the old style WholeHouse model things in your rgbeffects.xml (instead of ModelGroups).   That shouldn't be a problem, but it's not something I could test as my layouts don't use them and we don't have a way to create them anymore.      Next build should fix it.

Dan
This morning I deleted all of my model groups that where created prior to the model groups tab being created. Still having the same issue.

Model groups aren't the problem.  It's the old wholehouse models.

Here's a new version of hte xlights_rgbeffects.xml.   I've removed the WholeHouse models:

Code: [Select]
Windows
House Outline
Arches
Garage Trees
Driveway arch
House Canes
Halloween all
House model 1
Christmas whole display
Whole show
House edges
All rgb
New Wholehouse Model
Wreaths

I'd suggest re-creating these as model groups before opening any sequences that would use them.

That worked perfectly thanks guys. and that is one thing I should have done once the model groups tab was created was delete my old style model groups.
