Setting manual timing marks

Thanks for all the replies to my <original question>  LOL.....
I did what Mr. Christmas recommended (I just knew I remembered there was some single key method of doing that....)--and the note onsets did just a bit better than I could do with manual taps -- as tested with some random effects.    Anyway, just wanted to say thanks so much for the help!!

Talking about getting of the rails I did I little look into the pinball. Look like a neat project that I'm going to have to get into. But first finish up making my x- mas props.  Spinner and one more talking face. By then F16v2 will be here and the wiring will begin.  Yes power injection is a must.  Been doing that for years with my dumb RGBs at camp.

Two methods I use when Audacity has the audacity to not get the timing marks correctly.

1. Slow the audio playback to 1/2 or 1/4 in xLights and use the 't' key to insert timing mark edges.

2. Zoom in close on the audio waveform in xlights. Usually the wave form will have sharp edges on the beats and you can easily set the timing mark edges visually without even hearing the song.
(Use audacity to amplify the audio to increase the size of the wave form if need be)
